2.2 Convergence indicators

Economic convergence in the eurozone is crucial to the eurozone's ability to survive. But there are no fixed criteria for measuring convergence. The choice of parameters is therefore left to each observer. We have selected a large number of values to give a varied picture of current convergence in the eurozone. In most cases, we have taken 2007 as the base year. It is the last year in which the euro crisis had hardly any impact and it gives us a full ten years of data to examine. We have divided the indicators into three categories: "Economic performance", "Effects of economic performance" and "Future sustainability of the economy".
